FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Got questions?

Here you’ll find clear answers to some of the most common queries about our study bundles, how to use them, and what makes GCSE Nut a little different (in the best way).

What do you mean by 'subject mastery'?

Great question, because we use this phrase a lot, and we don’t define it the same way many schools or tutors might.

At GCSE Nut, subject mastery isn’t about chasing a top grade (unless you want to). It’s about understanding what you’re learning, feeling confident in what you know, and being able to apply it in the way you need. For some students, that might mean aiming for a Grade 9. For others, it might mean working towards a Grade 4 or 5. The level you work towards is entirely up to you — and our study resources give you everything you need to work toward the grade that’s right for you.

We believe that success is personally defined, and so is mastery. It’s not about perfection. It’s about feeling in control and working towards a goal that is meaningful to you, at your own pace and without the overwhelm.

What are GCSE Nut study bundles?

GCSE Nut Study Bundles are complete, ready-to-use learning packs created to make independent iGCSE study effective and enjoyable, with much less overwhelm.

Each bundle is built around a single subject topic and includes everything students need to learn, apply their knowledge, and track their progress. This includes a structured, exam-specification aligned guide with visual aids, question and answer booklets, a self-assessment tool, labelled and unlabelled diagrams, and more.

Our bundles combine academic rigour with a wellbeing-first design. They’re flexible, easy to use, and perfect for students who want to study at their own pace, and for parents who want to support their children without needing to become subject experts themselves.

Whether you're working through a full subject or just need help with a specific topic, our study bundles give you structure, confidence, and the freedom to learn in your own time and way.

How are your study guides different from other GCSE resources?

Unlike traditional textbooks or revision guides, our study bundles are designed specifically for independent learners, as well as the parents or carers who support them.

They’re complete, meaning everything you need to master the topic is included in one place, with clearly explained content, structured study tools, and resources to track progress and practice exam-style questions.

We don’t just cover topics, we guide learners through them step by step, helping to build subject mastery and real confidence without confusion or overwhelm. No guesswork, no filler, just focused learning designed for real-life students, not classrooms.

Your study guides seem longer than others. Why is that?

Our guides are often longer than traditional study and revision resources, but for good reason.

They're designed to facilitate learning. This means accessible formatting, clear explanations, and structured sections that make even complex topics easier to digest and more effective to study.

We use intentionally wide spacing, generous white space, and bite-sized sections to make reading easier and reduce overwhelm. Each section usually includes three levels of detail (overview, main text, and summary) so students and parents can absorb the material in the way that works best for them.

This might take up more pages, but it makes studying quicker, calmer, and more effective in the long run, especially for independent learners.

And everything we do, from layout to language, is grounded in learning science and evidence-based design. So while our guides may look longer, they’re carefully crafted to help students and parents stay focused, feel confident, and actually retain what they’re learning.

In fact, thanks to the way our guides are structured, they’re often quicker to read and absorb than shorter, denser alternatives, because they make it easier to scan, review, and revisit information as you go.

Are your resources exam-specification aligned?

Yes, all of our resources are created using the most up-to-date exam board specifications for each subject and topic.

We also review past papers, mark schemes, examiner commentaries, and trusted supplementary materials to ensure our content is not only aligned but genuinely useful for mastering the subject and preparing for exams.

Can I use just one study bundle, or do I need the full subject?

Absolutely. Our study bundles are designed to be flexible and topic-based, so you can start wherever you like.

Each bundle is self-contained and complete for that topic, meaning you don’t need to follow a fixed sequence or wait until the whole subject is available. Whether you’re reviewing a single topic or building your knowledge step by step, you can study in the way that works best for you.

Can I print the study guides at home?

Yes, you can. All of our study bundles are delivered as downloadable PDFs, which means you can print them at home or use them digitally on your preferred device.

To make printing easier, each bundle includes a Study Bundle Introduction Guide with a navigation table so you can quickly find and print only the pages you need, rather than the full pack.

You're welcome to print copies for personal use, but please remember that our materials are licensed for individual use only and must not be shared or redistributed.

Can I share the resources I’ve purchased with someone else?

No. Each GCSE Nut study bundle is protected by copyright and licensed for individual use only. It must not be copied, shared, uploaded, or redistributed in any form.

Many of our materials also include licensed content (e.g., images and text), especially in the Science subjects and English Literature. This means we are legally required to restrict distribution to protect the Intellectual Property of other people and organisations, as well as our own.

We work hard to keep our resources accessible and fairly priced, and protecting our content helps us do that. We appreciate your support in helping us keep GCSE Nut sustainable for the families who need it most.

Do your resources include wellbeing support or mindset tools?

Yes. Our wellbeing-first approach is built into everything we do.

Our study bundles are designed not just to help students learn effectively, but to help them and their families feel more confident, calm, and in control.

From self-assessment tools that build confidence, to clearly written guides that reduce cognitive load and overwhelm, everything we create supports both academic mastery and emotional wellbeing.

We will also be offering optional wellbeing guides and tools, grounded in Positive Psychology, motivation theory, and habit science, including exercises for grounding, focus, and self-reflection. These can be used anytime, in any way that suits the learner.

What subjects do you currently offer, and what’s coming next?

We’re rolling out study bundles topic by topic, starting with Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. Guides and tools for English Literature (including resources on An Inspector Calls, Macbeth, To Kill a Mockingbird) will be rolled out over the coming months once appropriate licencing has been obtained.

Over the summer, we’ll begin releasing study bundles for Physics (Edexcel iGCSE).

You can view our current subjects or join our mailing list to stay up to date. Updates will also be posted on our Facebook page and other social channels.

Can I use your resources if I’m following a different exam board?

Yes, in many cases you can.

Our resources are currently aligned with Edexcel iGCSE (for Science and English) and Edexcel GCSE (for Psychology), but there is significant topic overlap across major UK exam boards.

Many English Literature texts we cover appear on multiple specifications, including AQA and OCR.

Pearson has also published a mapping document for Science showing how Edexcel iGCSE aligns with other boards such as CAIE and Oxford AQA. Other exam boards have produced similar documents. These can usually be found under Teaching and Learning Materials on your exam board’s website.

We’re also working to provide additional guidance on bundle pages to help you make confident choices.

I’m a teacher/tutor, can I use these resources with my students?

No. Our resources are licensed for personal use only and may not be used, copied, or distributed within paid teaching or tutoring settings.

We believe students and families should only pay for support that provides unique value — not for resources they could access directly themselves. Many tutors bring their own insights, strategies, and support to the table, and we fully respect that. But where our materials are being used, we ask that they’re accessed and paid for by the learner or their family directly.

If you think our resources would benefit your students, please refer them or their parent/carer to our website. We're also happy to explore referral discounts that benefit your students directly, while keeping access fair, transparent, and ethical. Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to discuss this further.
